Sophia Tupuola is a first generation Samoan-American, born and raised in Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco. Her advocacy is rooted in her passion to interrupt the cycle of premature death in her community and advancing the social mobilization of The People disproportionately affected by the violence of social values embedded in colonization and capitalism. Her labors of love include building out a Resilient Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) with the A. Philip Randolph Institute in San Francisco. Sophia engaged youth from District 10 to participate civically by launching educational campaigns of awareness that empowered youth voices to bridge the gap between inner city youth and City/State elected officials and other community stakeholders. Sophia brings her practice of unconditional love to RDC's co-creation efforts.
